Sigourney’s Last Stand

Hey y’all! I can’t believe its been a year since I last posted anything on here; time flies. Luckily, I return with a new song that I wrote in honor of a young Midshipman who died heroically fighting the British during the War of 1812, back in the day when the US Navy didn’t give up a ship lightly. Be sure to remember  in your prayers Midshipman James Butler Sigourney and all those who have died defending our Nation. Hope y’all enjoy! Sigourney’s Last Stand

Ain’t Enough Time in the Day…

So I’ve been busy as all get out this summer with way too many projects to go and keep up with! But I found a moment to write a post and let y’all know whats going on. So, this week I played the Camel and the Stuck on a Beach music festival with the lovely Miss Maggie Rainwater and had a grand time of it! This September I’ll be playing hither and thither on my own and with Miss Maggie from Richmond to Kinsale to Whitestone to Kilmarnock so be sure and check out my schedule with hyperlinks I don’t feel like reposting letting y’all know where I’ll be!

The Cantab Lounge

Welp, I just got back to the Neck after visiting a lot of close friends and family up in New England! Had the opportunity to pick a few tunes over at the Cantab Lounge in Cambridge; had a lot of fun over at Geoff Bartley’s Monday Night Open Mic there. Can’t wait to get up to New England again soon! Here’s “Busted Blues” and “Broken Shards“!

Add One Back

About a month ago, just before Thanksgiving, a film crew stopped by the oyster farm where I work to shoot some footage for a documentary about the environmental benefits of farming oysters. Somewhere in the course of things, the film’s writer and director, Sam Sheline, heard some of my guitar pickin’ and songs and asked if I’d be interested in recording some tunes to be used as the soundtrack for his documentary. I was more than happy to oblige and this weekend Mr. Sheline has unveiled a quite excellent documentary about oysters and their contributions to a healthy ecosystem. The documentary also features a number of original songs and melodic improvisations by myself which have been incorporated into the film with the utmost care and attention. So, without further ado, here is Mr. Sheline’s documentary, “Add One Back“. I hope y’all enjoy!

Oysters

P.S. I would sooner see the world burn in an apocalyptic global warming catastrophe then give up enjoying a bloody medium rare filet mignon, but hey, that’s just me 😉

Hey Devil Dogs!

So here’s to all the hard chargers who graduated CMCR with me on Sunday, fun times gents! And of course, one night away from “da hooches” and my cough is already disappearing, go figure. So anyway, Since I’ve got so much stuff on youtube and soundcloud, I figured I’d cherry pick a few videos and recordings that y’all would probably enjoy. If you like ’em be sure to share ’em with your friends! And if ya got any good videos of me picking and grinning be sure to send me a link. Thanks gents, it was a pleasure training with y’all, ‘rah, best of luck!

Willaby’s Thursday April 22nd around 7…

I will be found playing guitar and singing songs on their impromptu stage. In other news, I got to play part of my song “Three Young and Lovely Mormon Ladies” to two young and lovely Mormon Ladies out missionarying about this morning at the Warsaw Flea-market. Not sure how the verses I sang went over, but I believe they gathered I’d be a lost cause as a Latter Day Saint. Here’s the chorus from the second verse,

“Well, I said, ‘Won’t you marry me!
They said, ‘What? Do you mean all three?’
‘Well, I thought you taught polygamy?’
‘No, not in quite a while!

And besides, you must be baptized first.’
Well I said, ‘Now, girls, I’m free of that curse!
I was baptized once in the Holy Church,
And it doesn’t go out of style!’
