On June 30th last year, 19 men from the Granite Mountain Hotshot wildfire crew died while fighting the Yarnell Hill fire. While the news is often full of stories of violence and tragedy, rarely do we hear stories of courage, sacrifice and commitment. I thought it was important that their story be told and not forgotten and I hope this song that I’ve written can contribute in some small way to keeping their memory alive.
